In March 2024, our family joined a leg of the DARWIN200 voyage from Lima, Peru, to Guayaquil, Ecuador, aboard the three-masted Oosterschelde.
Life aboard the historic ship meant learning the rhythms of sailing together. We worked on microplastic filtering during the passage, bringing environmental sampling into a journey built around Darwin’s route.
The wider voyage ran from 2023 to 2025. Our part was that Pacific passage: a ship, a family and practical work with the water we crossed.
