I joined the Elysium Artists for the Arctic team on its 2015 journey through Svalbard, Greenland and Iceland, contributing to the underwater and exploration work.
We dived and travelled above 82 degrees north. The Arctic was not just a backdrop for the photographs: making images in cold water, among ice and shifting weather, was itself part of the work.
The project brought together artists, photographers and scientists including Sylvia Earle, David Doubilet and Jennifer Hayes. Its images and field report tell the story better than another broad description can.
